802.11A link Question

Is 802.11a so sensitive that it will not travel through a single pain of glass?
I have a routerboard on our roof with 802.11a card for backbone, 802.11b card for hotspot/ppoe. On the mountain I have the same.
I want to add another repeater the same as above, and in attempting to set the unit up I have it sitting here in my showroom. I have a directional 802.11a antani pointing directly to the 8db omni antani on the mountain. (just like is what on the roof here)
I thought I had a bad rb532 so I pickedup one of the older routerboards and thers no change. I've made sure my cables and antani's are good too.
