Multiple Dial-up modems (56K) via USB on mikrotik

Sun Jun 26, 2011 1:29 pm

I looked and wasn't able to confirm this. I have a remote location that requires support for four dial-up 56K modems. Is it possible to connect four dial-up modems VIA a USB hub and use them on a Mikrotik router? We currently use a PC with a MOXA serial card and I would like to upgrade it. Also, if anyone has suggestions for 56k modems that are known to work with Mikrotik that would be useful as well.

Thanks,

- Dan

Tried that, was not all that successful. Ended up, using normal modem routers connected with LAN cable on to a five port RB and later a nine port RB as the modems got more. This a much better solution.

Thanks for your reply Egate, I'll avoid going down that path then.
