411U eth forces connection to remote host

Sat Jul 16, 2011 7:40 am

Hi Guys,
Any one knows if it is possible to force RB to connect to remote host on some port? I want to plug to RS232 my board and redirect all traffic from it to remote server, so when there is activity on RS port then RB will connect to some IP on some port and then send redirected data from RS to this IP.

Thnx

Hi,

Maybe you could use something like this:

Hi, thnx
That is just what I did but the problem is that in current firmware I need to innitiate connection to RB from remote host. What I need is that RB will innitiate connection to remote server on particular port.
I need this:
http://www.lantronix.com/pdf/XPort_UG.pdf
...page 32 down, section REMOTE HOST.

The idea is:
RS232 is connected to RB. When third device will send data to RB on serial port then RB will innitiate connection to remote server then connect on port XXXX and send data to this server and then disconnect. If remote server wants to send data to RB it will do the same from its direction.

Thnx
