I have a WDS repeater setup exactly as WIKI that has been working on V4.x for months. Upgraded to 5.6 and now client connections get an IP, but cannot ping gateway or past repeater connection. Woks fine with client connected to main AP. After 4 hours of setting changes and 2 days of reading, downgraded to 4.16 and it is working again. This is the first time in 3 years I could not find an answer by reading which says alot for all of you on this forum. Just wondering if there is a work around?

WDS repeater works at v5.x, if you still have the same problem at v5.x with repeater, contact MikroTik support department with attached support output file (support@mikrotik.com).

Thank you. I will reload 5.6 and create file along with configs from both AP and repeater within 48 hours. I am sure it is just a setting I need to tweak.

Mikrotik support responded to me confirming this is broken and they are working on it. So for now I will stick with 4.16 on my repeaters. Thank you support for your help.

Just to clarify, it is OK to run 5.x on main AP set up for WDS static, just not on the actual repeater device, that must stay with 4.x.

I discovered this same problem a back in v5.2. Do we have a solution for the WDS repeater as of yet? Did v5.7 fix this?
