Wimax and Wireless 2.4Ghz?

Sat Sep 24, 2011 8:57 pm

Hello,

Is WIMAX signals are more stronger than normal wifi 2.4GHz ? According to my search it gives alot more indoor range than wifi. is it true ? Does Mikrotik Boards and Mini PCI support WIMAX is it any option in mikrotik Available. Is Wimax Products are available on Mikrotik. Please tell me about it.

I want to change my setup from WIFI 2.4GHz to WIMAX for more indoor range and good data rate. Please suggest me.

According to Mikrotik: "No, we have no plans for it."

1. Apart from that, Wimax works in licensed bands.
2. Also, very little consumer product available for Wimax. So low production numbers.
3. Wimax works also with higher power levels.

These points create no. 4
4. Wimax is always dearer than Wifi.

Conclusion: Wimax is a dead end street. 10 years and its gone or they must come with mayor improvement on all of the 4 points I mentioned.
Wifi is developing all the time!
