sip - rtp problem ?

Wed Sep 28, 2011 2:25 pm

Hi,

I have a RB493G running v5.6.
I have configured it with ether1 for WAN and 3 LANs (wlan1, ether2-5, ether6-9).
Masqurade NAT with some simple firewall rules from the wiki.
It works well.

Now I try to connect to a SIP server, sipgate.de (all nat helpers are enabled including sip) from
a client on my laptop (linphone). The sip process works well but there is no sound.

linphone reports :
message: bandwidth usage: audio=[d=0.0,u=18.2] video=[d=0.0,u=0.0] kbit/sec
and
message: number of rtp packet sent=8378
message: number of rtp bytes sent=179951 bytes
message: number of rtp packet received=0
message: number of rtp bytes received=0 bytes

What do I need to configure in the router to make rtp come through ?
I do see some activity for the rtp port in the connections pane in the Firewall, but
not sure if is working as it should.

I have also tried an client on a windows laptop with the same result (no sound but sip connection)
so I think the problem is in the mikrotik configuration or sip helper.

Anyone have any experience with this ?

What else can I do to debug it ? (linphone debug output is pretty extensive)

It turns out after testing sip proxies etc with the same result
that the sipgate testnumber was not working correctly. I reset everything to simple siphelper
with no extra rules, and called my mobile phone. That worked.

Did not yet try with multiple clients, but now I can at least call.
