Demo License Expired, but it's not a demo license.

I've got an RB150 that's atleast 4 or 5 years old and tonight I lost internet connectivity and when i consoled into the router I got "Demo License Expired" but it's not a demo license. I'm currently reloading 3.30 onto the unit but I couldn't get ethernet to work so it's taking 45 mins over serial so hopefully that will fix it but I'd like to know what caused this. This one is my home router so not an issue but I'd rather not have this problem repeat on one of my critical routers that are off-site, especially during peak usage times.
EDIT: Just finished XMODEM 3.30 over and recieved INVALID UPGRADE FILE ID and it still won't boot, so what's the issues? Is there a way from the setup menu to see what license this box has? I thought it was a V3 license but maybe is is a V2 or is that not what this error means? Also I can't see where to DL 2.9 from on the website to even try that version to see if it works.
Regards.

Hi,
About License issue, Did you check your License?
/system license print
*********************
software-id: 52QU-AX3K
upgradable-to: v6.x
nlevel: 4
features:
*********************
Just check "upgradable-to". It means that you are allowed to upgrade your OS version to this.

Hi,
If you can reach the router via Winbox, try to use the following link and see if it helps -
Link -
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Li ... bol_SoftID
You can also read the whole page from the top to see if you have skipped something.
Also, always remember to upgrade the firmware and not only the ROS at every upgrade stage, if needed.

Rgds,
Mark.

I cannot access the router at all except buy serial as it fails to boot routerOS and just gives the afore mentioned error message.
Nothing has been done to this router in years other than configuration changes, no upgrades, or anything, it just sits in a hole and runs, until the other night when it decided to roll over and give this crazy error.
Seriously no one has ever seen this error before? Am I just lucky and have the one box that decided to kick the can with this weird message? Is there some kill code in there to force you to upgrade the router every so often?
I've got several hundred different Mikrotik products out in the field and I do not like the idea of them just deciding at random to invalidate there own license for no reason.

Did you ever resolve this? I'm having the same issue now.
