Hello. Need some help!

After doing a lots of searchs I did not find a solution for this question:

The scenario:

USER <--> RB 1 <--> INTERNET

RB1:
Ether1 – Internet
Ether2 – Users – PPPoE – This interface has no IP, just PPPoE server.

Is it possible to install Hotspot in RB1 for PPPoE users?

In other words: users will first connect with PPPoE then they will see HotSpot page. Ether2 remains with no IP.

If yes, on what “Interface” should I put HotSpot to listen ? What steps should I take to make It work?

I solved this with 2 Routerboards, but I need to find out if it is possible to do with only one Roterboard.

Thanks very much
Fabricio

Yes:

I want to Edit login.html and put an advice for certain users. These users will see the notice, click “next” and HTML will POST username and password.

My login page:

“Please PAY”
[Click Here to Continue]

<input type="hidden" name="username" value="hsuser">
<input type="hidden" name="password" value="hspass">

:)

Regards
Fabricio

You can edit Hotspot Login page, But you say you need to edit page for certain users!!!
Hmmmmmmm!! :shock:

I think you can enable Advertise in Hotspot User Profile for those certain users.

You can run hotspot and PPPoE on the same interface, I have this operating on a number of sites currently. PPPoE server is treated as a separate interface so traffic *does not* hit the hotspot unless the user is connecting via dhcp on the same interface

You could even give your users the choice of how they want to login.

Alternatively if as originally stated you want them to connect via PPPoE them hotspot, you could connect your PPPoE server to a bridge interface and add a hotspots server to that however it would require them to login a second time.
