BGP howto

i have the following case:

i have a subnet /24 and i connect to a switched network, where my gateway is. It is from the same /24 adress space. Because i dont connect directly to the router, but the switched network my network easily causes porblems on the switched one. I'd like to put a ROUTER between the switched network and me, so f.e. ARP packets could not move out.

So my question is what should i set on the "other router" - my external gateway, and what should i set on my inside "protect the other network" router?

If i have a 2 interface PC with Mikrotik on it, and i turn on BGP, then there will be no layer-2 communication between the two interfaces?

Or maybe i dont need BGP?

Please help :)
