RX Limiting not supported on this interface.

Sat Dec 03, 2011 2:25 am

When I try to set bandwidth limits on my 450G I can set the TX rate and it works as it should, however I can't set the RX rate without getting the error, "Couldn't change interface LAN2 - rx limiting not supported on this interface (6). I tried Googling it but found nothing. The interface has no master port and it isn't part of a bridge or a switch. Any suggestions on how to get the RX to work?

Limiting RX is useless, as you would limit only what you physically have received already on your port. You should limit TX on the other port(s) instead.

This is interesting for me too cause i need to limit rx and tx.
tx limiting is not an issue because i can limit that and that works.
however rx. why cant we limit rx?

is there another way around this though? perhaps a simple queue?
