I've got a couple of RB435Gs out in the field.

Some of them randomly reboot with "System rebooted because of kernel failure" in the error log.

Any ideas as to what the problem with these items is?

I'm running 5.11 with latest routerboard firmware 2.38

you can try to netinstall the unit 1st, it mostly cure that issue.
