Burst setting for PCQ queues and hotspot profiles

Sun Dec 18, 2005 7:25 am

A little confused, how can I set the bursting parameters for a hotspot profile or a PCF queue.

There is only one field (rate-limit or pcq-rate) for each. Do I just put all the parameters in there separated by a / ? What order do they go in?

HI bokad
well i am also like u intersted in using burst for pcq limits.
i have all costumers limited using pcq but i was unable to achieve a correct setup for using burst.
With busrt i could gurantee fast browsing and good download speed for small files but i posted earlier this topic and i got no response.
also i want to limit pppoe-users through those pcq limits i have done and i was unable to achieve this too.
the porblem is when the users goes offline or disconnects and tries to connect again it says for the interface "unkown"
well if u achieved a solution or if any body could help pls tell me.
thanks in advance.

also bokad would u like to share our pcq setups? to see if i or u have missed something and maybe we could ge a best solution for bopth of our cases.
??

Not sure how the hotspot works,,but here is a 2 rule PCQ scheme:
In 2.8.28

create a basic PCQ type without classifiers:
queue type> add name=users kind=pcq

then queue it up under simple queue with the type created above:
use target address for entire class and whatever limits you want,,just be certain to make the queue = users
