Basic Setup help with RB493G

Sun Jun 24, 2012 12:17 pm

Hi all,

i need some basic help please.
I'm fighting with the two switch chips on the RB493G

ether10 - WAN
ether11 is master port for ether12-ether14
ehter15 is master port for ether16-ether17

Then i have setup bridge1
ether11 and wlan1 are designated ports on bridge1

Then i have setup a dhcp server to run on bridge1 with an adress pool.
All of this works. I can connect clients on ether11-ether14 as well as on the wlan. I can obtain ip-adresses and also everything else works.

But now i don't get any further. How to proceed with ether14-ether17? I cannot get it running.
I tried to create a bridge two and then setup the ports, but they always end up as invalid (role: disabled port)

Maybe someone can enlighten me? :)

is there something plugged in? otherwise it will show I, i would be careful of adding ports to a bridge that enable and disable a lot, esp with pppoe dialer.
