spanning tree mikrotik + Cisco issue

Hi, today i Built a cisco router todo some testing, i then simple pluged one of the access ports into my mikrotik which is just a 5 port bridge, with ether1 as the link to my network/internet simple right? my network/internet has a bunch of vlans of all sorts.
by default the 878 cisco router was set to switch mode access all 4 of the ports were access ports
What happened was the cisco router kept displaying errors inconsistancy on port type, basicly what it appeared to be was
the cisco access port is not expecting to see vlans etc, bpdu's , So i thought okay hmm i'll just set the mikrotik bridge1 to none option in spanning tree ( im confident there will be no loop here) but the cisco router persists to keep blocking the port, am i doing something wrong? isnt it as simple as turning off the spanning tree on mikrotik so the cisco router wont get any "bpdu's" or is this because a cisco access port isnt supposed to receive vlan ids
