USB and/or SD Boot options for 493G?

Sat Jul 14, 2012 6:26 pm

Got a 493G a few months back to replace a now dead Sofaware Z100g and love it. But..... I live with flaky power and have corrupted the NAND three times now on power loss. Of course it always happens when I am on the road and my lovely lady is then without Internet and phone till I return. Is there a way to have it boot from USB and or SD as a backup? I have done searches here and google but like any search its matching my keywords to what the search engine likes so I have had no luck finding this. With all the storage options on this board I can't believe there is no way to use them for something as critical as booting the device.

Thanks tremendously in advance for ANY help.

it is not possible to boot this device from other device but NAND. And, if you have power that flaky, maybe consider adding UPS to your device.

Seems you have unreliable NAND Flash on board. Please check if SAMSUNG K9F1608UOC NAND chip on board.
