Is there a Problem with HotSpot????
I have had this happen to me 2 times now. I have a hotspot configured and the Ether1 IP address is assigned dynamically from the ISP. It all works well but customer wants static IP for management. I convert circuit to static IP address and HotSpot redirection to authentication page stops working. I can ping the DNS servers, I can get an IP from the HotSpot on the wireless side but no matter what it will not redirect me to the authentication page (after the IP address has been changed to static from ISP). The ONLY way to recover on both occasions was to reset back to factory which is a joke.
This thing has to be caching some information somewhere. Please let us know what we have to do to make this work. Airpath has removed MikroTik as an approved piece of equipment now because of lack of documentation and response from the company. I have called at least 4 times and they said they have Zero Documemntation on how to make their service work with MikroTik and all e-mails have gone unanswered.
MikroTik - You are really cutting your nose off to spite your face. Airpath has received millions in financing from investors here in the states and are becoming well recognized and respected and can really help things happen for you over here. If you dont give them support to help us who want to use your product, how do you expect them to support you? They told me on the phone today they are going to remove you as an approved product. Look, If you need someone here in the states to deal with them. My company will do this on your behalf. I will even write all the documents ( I write technical Net design and quick start guides for my employer) for you to pass on to them to give to others who use Mikrotik. I just need your help to get this HotSpot working as bulletproof as possible but I need a direct contact on your side I can deal with to resolve these issues.
I look forward to hearing from you.
