Weird ip binding bug/problem (RB750 v5.19)

Sat Aug 04, 2012 7:23 pm

Hello,
I am using the RB750 in hotspot mode.
I have 4 active mikrotik RB750 with v5.19 software.

Problem:
I make ip-binding and make it bypass for certain computers so they are bypassing the hotspot login page and connect to internet automatically without having to put in username/password each time.
But issue is when there is a power outage the mikrotik shuts off briefly for 5 minutes and then turns back on and then assigns the PC that were binded/bypassed a new ip address which is NOT binded/bypassed. Anyone else experience these issues? Any ideas how to resolve this?

I tired multiple things:
1. Make PC have static ip. Still not working properly.
2. Make PC have dynamic ip assigned from mikrotik. Still not working properly.

Any ideas what I am missing here? Having to go thru each RB750 and re bypass the specific computers gets a little tedius after some time.

Also problem came up for me ever since ROS v5.14. Prior to that I never had any issues. I have tried a "clean" install on the Mikrotik and all sorts of things but still a no go.
Thanks for the time and help if anyone can help me figure out what I am doing wrong.

Hi
reserve ip address for your clients in /ip dhcp-server leases .i think if you use that your problem will be solved

Good luck

Did you find your IP bindings line items just disappeared after a time, or did you still see them but they didn't work?

I'm noticing on one RB750GL that all the IP bindings I added for bypassed computers months ago are gone; the list is empty. I didn't have the opportunity to see if they disappeared all at once or one at a time. Yet, on two almost-identically configured RB751 units I see all IP bindings still there, including my Android phone. I haven't been to that location in weeks, so if no DHCP address reservation was the problem, my phone should have been deleted long ago from the IP binding list. All the units are at 5.20 now, and have been upgraded regularly over the last year at the same time, so I don't suspect the upgrades caused the problem.

The RB751 units keep their bindings and the RB750 did not. You are having what sounds like the same problem on an RB750. I'm starting to think this is a problem exclusive to the RB750. No referece for this type of problem in the firmware changelog.
