We have also more expensive and higher power products. Actually I think we have products for every price range. If you can't find what you need, let us know what product you would want, and we will think how to make it.Normis, why couldn't the new RB2011U with more memory and CPU speed? I would be willing to pay for some more money. It seems that Mikrotik is obsessed with having low prices, which is good, but at the same time it would be great to have more power.
Well in that case we need to talk over the phone because I always have great ideas lol. Also if you are to by the baseboard RB2011UAS-2HND without the case, can you add your own custom LCD panel or ? Don't care about the touch screen in particular. We have also more expensive and higher power products. Actually I think we have products for every price range. It's 4x Atheros PCIe Ethernet, consumer grade, controllers connected to PCIe switch chip:RB44Ge is just 4x Atheros PCI chipsets with a PCI to PCIe bridge chip
The Rackmount version with wireless and the LCD is still coming. Hopefully the wait will not be too long, but I do agree with you on the USB part.I dont understand why Mikrotik have put a micro-USB port on the RB2011UAS-2HnD.
The PCB has the provision for a real USB port, its just one more ugly adapter hanging out the front, and micro-usb is no where near as mechanically secure as full sized USB
The LCD screen look like an after-thought, having it on the top just means it will get scratched from items being placed on top. Great idea, but a 1U case with it on the front. Or a nice stand up case like the Thomson tg589 has with LCD on the front, ports on the back would be fantastic.
On the positive side, Serial via RJ45, with Cisco pinout, FINALLY!
+1I would love pay a bit more for the RB2011UAS-2HnD to have both 2GHz/5GHz option or even with a minipci slot for later expansion.
It is a less common form factor that requires a cable, rather than allowing direct connection, for most USB devices. Given the size of the case, the argument for using the less-common connector is not very strong.it is proper USB port, just different form factor.
Because Mikrotiknice router!!!! why UGLY RED!?!?!?!?!
Red is the color of PASSION! heheheBecause Mikrotiknice router!!!! why UGLY RED!?!?!?!?!
at least in Europe these cables are easy to come by, as every phone have one packaged with it (as per regulation)It is a less common form factor that requires a cable, rather than allowing direct connection, for most USB devices. It appears they come with the cable...at least that's what the newsletter leads me to believe "micro-USB port with adapter cable forEvery phone packaged with this cable?
We are speaking of the OTG , correct ?
In Bulgaria we buy them for 1-2 euro (1 BGN - 2.5 BGN). They were 4-5 euro until devices became widespread and resellers changed their profit strategy.
It is an inconvenience to have to go to the resellers for this small thing - the trip and time will cost more than 10 euro for sure, if you count the time - the cost may get INSANE.
They are cheap/noname but from what I've seen - reliable enough.
We need this connection to be very physically (and otherwise) stable not to unplug or wiggle by themselves even if something is hanging on the cable itself.
But we don't want to ugly-fi our installation with hanging usb devices.
I suggest MikroTik to manufacture these with really high control for quality and make them for long-life and supply these cables in the box with the router.
Something about the convenience must be done. We can't have things just hanging out of the router. Some sort of mount for 3g dongles should be made available.
Thank you.
My point isn't about availability or cost, but about reliability and necessity. My experience with micro-USB connectors is that they are not very rugged, which means it is easy for them to become damaged or accidentally disconnected. Looking at the image on RouterBoard.com, it looks like there would have been room for a full-sized USB Type-A port (vertically), or at least a Type-B, both of which are much more secure--and in the case of Type-A, would not require a cable for most USB peripherals. It appears they come with the cable...at least that's what the newsletter leads me to believe "micro-USB port with adapter cable for 3G/LTE dongle + USB drive"
Rackmount RB2011 with SFP would be awesome. We have also more expensive and higher power products. Actually I think we have products for every price range. If you can't find what you need, let us know what product you would want, and we will think how to make it.

Or a simple half rack style bracket for RB2011LS-IN.
We are deploying the RB2011LS-IN to business and datacentre fibre customers instead of buying media converters, it makes a really nice CPE / endpoint for this, and the only thing missing is a rack mount bracket.
+1 like (Strongly needed)Or a simple half rack style bracket for RB2011LS-IN.
A product with less power. Not the blasting 1W + stuff which Mikrotik is heading towards. But with high TX/RX sensitivity and Metal shields and high gain antennas, surge protection. We have also more expensive and higher power products. Me too.I would still wish to see a SXT with decent 400mW 25 dbi antenna, metal shield enclosure and higher TX/RX sensitivity

+1Do Mikrotik have any low cost RouterBoard which have at least two SFP?.

Probably not for home users but we have a client location that has three buildings. The fiber is running from a central building to the two outlying buildings. It would be great to have in the central building.please give some examples how you would use it ? is it for home users? why two SFP ?
Always good to have a fibre in and a fibre outProbably not for home users but we have a client location that has three buildings. We need fibre in and fibre out - to other location. We are looking forward to new products with at least 2x SFPplease give some examples how you would use it ? is it for home users? why two SFP ?

I dont know what brand. But works all 1,25Gbit SFP Modules.honzam
If u can tell me what kind and what brand of SFP Module (or SFP transceiver) are u using?
and do u have any problem using it with RB2011LS-IN?
Tnx.
In my opinion what is still missing are:The new PDF is here, with lots of great news
- RB2011 with wireless and touchscreen LCD!
- MikroTik youtube channel
- $99 rackmount
- MUM in Russia
- Academy in Indonesia
- RouterOS v5.20 released
- RB44Ge Ethernet card
- New PoE out functionmality

1) ADSL port with PPPoE and PPPoA
Probably because the xDSL market is controled by the ITU and shared only among a few companies (Broadcom, Siemens, ...)I do not understand why MikroTik forgives a large market
Yes, Fiber-In, Fiber-Out, so you can build chains/loops.please give some examples how you would use it ? is it for home users? why two SFP ?
Yes, why 1W on an indoor router?A product with less power. Not the blasting 1W + stuff which Mikrotik is heading towards.
I would love pay a bit more for the RB2011UAS-2HnD to have both 2GHz/5GHz option or even with a minipci slot for later expansion.
+1why UGLY RED!?!?!?!?!
Also most countries have speed limits on roads, but BMW can go 280KMh. High maximum simply means you can use it, when you need it. RB2011 has MMCX inside, you can use it in a different case, with external antenna.Yes, why 1W on an indoor router?
That's insanse, esp. as Europe and most other countries don't allow more than 100mW
Matter of taste. So far, absolute majority are very happy with the new design. This is our most demanded product right now.why UGLY RED!?!?!?!?!
microUSB cables have ugly big connector (the square plastic around connector tip), you can't plug it without having that hole.Any why the ugly cut out around the USB port?
So why not on CCR?microUSB cables have ugly big connector (the square plastic around connector tip), you can't plug it without having that hole.
Does RouterOS support DDMI from SFPS?
These features are under development and will be available starting from version 6.How do we put a password on the 2011UAS LCD? Also, what about resource graphs and simple configuration via LCD?
I didn't see this answered and might be of use to someone. Yes, RJ45 serial like a Cisco cable. That's what I used on the RB2011 sitting on my desk right now.normis:
in the routerboarg webpage not sell the case indor for rb2011UAS-2HnD
rj45 serial port like cisco ??
I have same condition like cbrownProbably not for home users but we have a client location that has three buildings. The fiber is running from a central building to the two outlying buildings.
