MT bridging help

Tue Jan 24, 2006 8:04 pm

Greetings,

I am quite new to MT and would appreciate if point me into the right direction.
Here is my scenario:

Access Point running in AP mode only (no WDS), CPE is RB511 with SR2 or CM-9.
I need to accomplish the following:

1. Be able to assign dynamic IP to wlan1 interface on CPE.
2. Be able to assign dynamic IP to client behind eth1.

I've read the numerous posts on MT board that bridging doesn’t work well without WDS. What other options should I explore and still keep the dynamic network layout?

Thank you for your assistance,
Adam

If it is your access point then turn on WDS or ask to do it owner of access point.
Otherwise you can use natted network or ask to your ISP route Public IP through your router.

Thank you for the reply.
What is the most straight forward way of configuring NAT on RB511?
I am completely new to it and all the attempts I have made so far didn't yield the results.

Again, thank you very much for your help.

If you do not need forward port in local network then use only masquerade:

For port forwarding look at this example:
