Omnitik and SXTs connection question

Hi to all,

recently i purchased the Omnitik bundle with the 5 SXTs. I am planning to install them all pointing to the central Omnitik. The initial purpose is to pass SCADA data (max. 64 Kbps) per Omnitik and each SXT of the 5.

I did a search in the forum as well as in the wiki but some details are still grey to me.

1. I am using NV2 as the protocol between them. Currently i have tested only one link , that is between Omnitik and one SXT and it works OK. My question is NV2 the correct choice when all the SXTs will send traffic to the central Omnitik? Or probably 802.11 , Nstreme would be better for this kind of topology?

2. I have setup the Omnitik as bridge and the SXT as Station-WDS. The link also came up when i had the SXT in Station-Bridge mode but i suppose that Station-WDS is preferable to Station-bridge mode.

I would like to know your opinions,

Thank you.

use nv2 and use ap-bridge on the omnitik and station-bridge on the SXT

Thanks for the answer Nick,

one question : The central Omnitik should be AP-bridge or simple bridge is adequate? Currently it is setup as brigde (not ap-bridge) but only one SXT is attached (for the time being).

If you want to attach multiple SXTs then you need to use AP-Bridge

Bridge can only have one client connected to it.

Nick.
