RB1100AHx2 kernel failure

We have problems with a RB1100AHx2.
Suddenly, it crashes, and shows the "kernel failure" log.
Mikrotik Support hasn't find any solution yet for this problem,
although this is their high end router, up to now.
they have just suggested deactivatingdefault admin username of the hotsport service,
and making only upgrades when new release of software comes out.
but up to now even 5.21 release hasn't solved the problem.
The last answer from Mikrotik support is that they doubt the problem
is caused by using VLANs on some interfaces where there is more than
100Mbps of traffic. But no solution yet, as I meantioned.
Has any one faced this problem with this Router?
Thank you

Just to add weight to the argument that the 1100AHx2 has stability issues.
I have recently started to deploy these as customer CPE devices rather than the RB1200, and out of 7 deployed, we have had issues with 5. They just lock up and require power cycling to recover, thus you lose the logs. I have 2 units on V5.17 and have upgraded 3 to v5.21, all still suffer lockups at random intervals.
There are definitely issues Mikrotik need to address with this product, they also need to be open and honest about know issues so we can make informed decisions as to the risk, if they dont start to do this they risk losing credibility and thus will see a shrinking customer base.

Hello,
The same problem here with 3 different 1100AHx2. The 1100AHx2 is running as QoS router. Every x minutes the "routerboard reboots due kernel failure". Tried with 5.14, 5.20, 5.21 and 6rc2. I have tried to disable mangle, queues, etc.
No problem with the same configuration running in 1000 and 1100AH. And I also have the same configuration running ok in a 1100AHx2 in other place.
Best Regards,
Miquel.

Hi!
I have 2 without problems, BUT my customer shut them down each day and turn on in the morning. It's the firewall style in this school.
This 2 boards were working without issues this summer in many events, BUT I noticed that yes, each day this 2 boards are rebooted.
Now we installed a level9 UPS and this boards will be working 24x7. If I notice any problem, I will tell you.

Hello,
Mikrotik suggest me to disconnect "use-ip-firewall" in the bridge settings. I will check next week. Could anyone also check if it solves the kernel failure problem?
I will post the result.
Best regards,
Miquel.

We have same problem with on 1100AHX2.
We bought one, a year ago for traffic shaping but got this never running.
When having mangle or Queues in work it is randomly rebooting.
Just send the board back for repair to your seller.
Since we cannot use it is nothing worth!

RouterOS v6 fixes all multicore related issues with Queues. Guys, you should try v6rc3

Disabling use-ip-firewall on bridge has solved my reboot problems.
Now the problem is that the 1100AHx2 is dead after 8 hours running, no lights no noise no connection.

In v6 or v5? Like I said above, use v6

Some of us prefer not to run beta/alpha software in our production environments.
I cannot upgrade my RB1100AHx2 from 5.14 to 5.20, because I see a Kernel Failure in the logs whenever I reboot.
On 5.14, the RouterBoard reboots randomly.
Any solution is welcome, as long as it doesn't result in introducing more unknown bugs and "features"

I get a kernel panic every 3-8 weeks on one of mine I am using it fot the main connection for about 200 clients. It has about 20 vlans on eth1, wan on eth 8 and a couple other link. I have pppoe running with about 20 connections and am natting about 800 users, dst/src natting 40 or so devices/ip's. I luckily I can get to the APC PDU quickly and reboot it in about a minute. I am about to try 6.... I will post results in a month or two.

Miahac,
Did you have success with OS V6x?
I am having the same problem where our 1100AHx2 is rebooting with error message "kernel failure"
This is in a high traffic property where we are running multiple queues within a hotspot.
I would like to know whether I will make things worse with an upgrade to whether I should replace the router ASAP.
Thanks!

after update to 6.5 my router is up and running 1day and 6 hours. I guess this problem is solved.
