Hello.
Few days ago I upgraded to OS 5.21 and firmware 3.0
Omnitik became slow and after few hours I lost it.
Now when I plug the Poe, it does not beep/boot , but the led is on.
I heard I can recover it somehow.It's not yet fried !!...

Do i need to use netinstall ? i do not have any usb serial cable, how can I recover it? demounting and opening the plastic enclosure perhaps?

Have you tried with RESETING the hardware ??

Inside the device is a reset button. Hold the button, apply power, release the button after some 10 seconds. Software will be reset:



If complete reinstall should be needed, hold the button for some 30 seconds before releasing, and device will enter Netinstall mode. Then launch Netinstall in your PC and it will detect the Netinstall server on your router.

unofrtunately nothing happens , after 10 or 30 seconds..
I open netinstall client and nothing happens...

did you connect cable from port 1 directly to your PC? netinstall must be running on the same network, and the windows pc must have all firewall/antivirus programs disabled, and running with administrator privileges

How can I connect cable from port 1 to my PC ? If I do that how can I switch on the Omnitik?I used a PoE and connected white cable into PC.

Yes I did plug it into PC and set Ip4 to : 172.18.1.5 , same subnet of crashed Omnitik.
I run Netinstall program and kept reset button for 30 seconds, but nothing is popping up...

to clarify, is this the procedure you followed?

1. unplug all cables from omnitik
2. press reset button and hold it
3. plug in poe cable (to apply power)
4. still keep holding the button, for 30 seconds
5. release button to see unit pop up in netinstall

so, the button must be pressed before power is applied

Yes i did, but unfortunately no progress.
In fact when I switch the Omnitik , the board does not even beep...
Should I change the Ip perhaps...

Do you have any other suggestion?
CAn I record a short video , perhaps I do smth wrong?

If you have anather interface in your computer you must disable it (for example wifi card)
You can have only one card enabled at the same time if you usage netinstaler

Remove the two stickers (round shape) from the screw locations. unscrew and slide out the device from the plastic case. Use a screwdriver in the reset hole, and boot the device. this is a secondary reset option if button is not working.

Oh my GOD!
The same problem have been happened to me, too. Today I just purchased a new OmniTik 5U-Hnd. It seemed that work without problem, but just after I upgrade and reboot to OS v5.22 , IT IS DEAD!!!!!
No LED turn on except for power. I test any methods to reset it. I even open apart the case and hold the internal reset button for more than 2 minutes but nothing happened.
Only the power LED is turned on all over the time, and if listen very carefully, I hear very slow tiny tick sound from buzzer every 12seconds, just it!

I wake all of the night, and can't find any solution. How can I tell it to my customer?

Please help me Normis, I have to done my job.

Ok. Finally I uninstalled my antivirus/firewall app (NOD32) and restart the laptop. Wow! NetInstall works and I upgrade Omnitik's OS. Hope it could help you too.
