Upgrade FAIL from 5.20 to 6.0rc3 (2012-10-30 14:55:15)

see console (in next my post) - during upgrade

after power cycle - routerboard boot but very long time to starting services
then - unable login via console, no PING (it seem like 100% cpu)

Do a netinstall back to 5.x to fix the router.

Device is not "dead", because you can use Netinstall to downgrade to v5.21. We will see why v6 doesn't work, but remember - RB133c only has 16MB of RAM and was made some 7 years ago ...

I known. Downgrade to 5.21 works well. Rb133c is very OLD product, but you newer say -> ROS 6.0 is incompatible with old MIPSLE boards


I hope that ROS 6.0 will work with rb532 and rb133C. If not please warn users on webpage...

it works on all other MIPS-LE boards because they have more RAM. RB113C and RB112 are the only exceptions.

And will work ROS6 in the future on rb133c and rb112 ?

It works if you install only System package. Check which packages you can omit, and install only the very basics. It could work then.

I can try it, but where download all packages rc3? On prerelase is only mipsle-6.0rc3.npk

currently nowhere. we will see what we can do.

The same problem - kernel panic

Too late, few RB133c unuseable after ROS6.1 installed ... replaced some by RB411 and some with NSM5.

Cost, crew, time, upset customers involved ..... Next time please ADVICE on download or changelog.
