How to Upgrade

Hi,
I have RB751G-2HnD
Version 5.16
In it is Routerboard Current Firmware 2.38
751G-2HnD
To me the information regarding upgrading is ambiguous
so please can anyone assist with the following
1. Is there a newer version of both OS and firmware
2. Do I put ALL the files into the root directory and hope for the best?
