AyiyA tunnel!

Mon Nov 26, 2012 12:28 am

Hello People,

I recently bought a RB 751G-2hnd, witch im using for test enviroments at home, but at home, im behind a nat, and i use a SixxS tunnel on my desktop pc with a software called AICCU (witch works pretty well) to get an IPv6 instead of my traditional IPv4. I searched all over the web and didnt found anything about any way to configure a dynamic tunnel behind a nat inside the RB 751g-2hnd. My question is, anyone knows any way to configure an IPv6 tunnel over an IPv4 connection behind a nat (witch i cant control) on the RB751G-2hnd? I gotta make some test with IPv6 and virtualization, so i really need this tunnel to be directly connected to the RB.

Thanks in advance.

Brought this in discussion some time ago as a feature request. Not to much success...
Anyway, I think that with the official worldwide IPv6 launch more and more providers offer native IPv6 access and Sixxs somehow looses its appeal.
My solution to date is to run aiccu on a server and distribute the addresses to the network via RA. Since aiccu initiates the connection, it will pass your NAT without problems and connect to the heartbeat server of your tunnel provider without any issues.

Here's a solution based on metarouter and openwrt (freely inspired by some other tutorials on the net):
