Questions about nstream

Thu Feb 16, 2006 11:58 pm

Hi, after using MT in quite a legacy way (ap-bridge, with wds creating point-to-point links) i started to test nstream to see if i could get any improvement on the speed.
I must say that i'm quite happy of the links but i never get more that 12/14 mbit per second usually.

What seems quite strange to me is that, from indoor test, i do not seem to get any benefit by nstream.
I get the same speed from nstream and from legacy 802.11a and compression.
I do not think is a cpu issue (i use MT boards) because i never passes 30/50%

Another question is: is it possible to create an Nstream link without having to bridge interfaces? i wasn't able to, it does work by creating bridges, but not using wds with p2p link (i already know i cannot use ap-bridge on both devices).
Thanks,
Ricky

Nstream is cpu intensive, so, in a RB overcloked to 333MHZ you can push about 30-40 MB Half-Duplex with nstreame enabled.
