We plugged the 1310nm Version in a linksys switch and got high packet loss at some times. So there are compatibility issues. We used Levelone SFPs before which did not show this issues. We did not see this with MT SFP in Routerboard and Levelone SFP in Routerboard.

did you ever try out a MikroTik SFP transceiver in the RouterBoard and a Linksys SFP transceiver in the Linksys switch?
For sure they should be both having the same tech specs on both sides, likes 1310 nm SMF on each.
We're only using 1310nm on all fiber links to avoid compatibility problems. Dont like the situation where I am
at a tower with the wrong module.
Are they fine working together or are there also some issues!
Not seen issues between a MT SFP in a Routerboard to a LevelOne SFP in a routerboard. So it's not a problem of
the link signal/protocol. It is an issue between Linksysswitch and RB SFP.
At least I think MikroTik is offering us 20 Kilometers by 1310 nm SMF modules and this is 10 Kilometers on top as the usual SFP are offering or am I wrong with this meaning?
Yes. Indeed. And they are quite cheap. So using them in Routerboards is a good idea. But be warned using them in other switches you might see issues.

Hello again ste,

for sure if you are on the tower an and the module is not matching fine it would be a really angry situation.
Thanks for sharing the information and your experiences with me/us over the SFP modules.

What can I expect from the following:
RouterBoard with MikroTik SFP module--------fibre cable----------Linksys Switch with a Linksys SFP module
On both ends are the same standard (LX with 1310 nm) would this be running fine too? What do you mean?
Or should I also expect some issues on one end of the fibre wire line?
I have no Linksys SFP I have LevelOne. Yes. This should work fine. I guess as I often see "Cisco compatible SFP modules" that not all SFP Modules work in every switch without problems.

As there are different fibre cables too components have to be selected carefully. We only use 1310nm components to reduce this issues.
