ipv6 and bridge not working

Mon Feb 25, 2013 12:07 am

Hello,

i'am quite experienced with ipv6 on linux and other os but on my 493G with a 6.0rc11 it does not
work. I have a also RB411UAHR where the ipv6 is working like excepted.
My config is quite simple.
/interface bridge print
Flags: X - disabled, R - running
 0  R name="mam-intern" mtu=1500 l2mtu=1520 arp=enabled mac-address=00:00:00:00:FE:01 protocol-mode=rstp priority=0x8000 auto-mac=no
      admin-mac=00:00:00:00:FE:01 max-message-age=20s forward-delay=15s transmit-hold-count=6 ageing-time=5m
/ipv6 address print detail
Flags: X - disabled, I - invalid, D - dynamic, G - global, L - link-local
 0  G address=2001:470:XX:XX::4/64 interface=mam-intern actual-interface=mam-intern eui-64=no advertise=no
 1 XG address=2001:470:YY:YY::2/64 interface=heipv6 actual-interface=heipv6 eui-64=no advertise=no
 2 DL address=fe80::20c:42ff:fea7:70a9/64 interface=ether10-uplink actual-interface=ether10-uplink eui-64=no advertise=no
 3 DL address=fe80::200:ff:fe00:fe01/64 interface=mam-intern actual-interface=mam-intern eui-64=no advertise=no
/ipv6 route print detail
Flags: X - disabled, A - active, D - dynamic, C - connect, S - static, r - rip, o - ospf, b - bgp, U - unreachable
 0 ADC  dst-address=2001:470:XX:XX::/64 gateway=mam-intern gateway-status=mam-intern reachable distance=0 scope=10
But a local ping from extern is not replied, and a ping to a local host is also not replied. And the answer is
/ping 2001:470:XX:XX::1
HOST                                     SIZE TTL TIME  STATUS
                                                        no route to host
like this.

But the neigbor-discovery look ok:
/ipv6 neighbor print  detail
Flags: R - router
 0   address=fe80::16da:e9ff:fe67:fbc5 interface=mam-intern mac-address=14:DA:E9:67:FB:C5 status="stale"
ip -6 neigh
fe80::200:ff:fe00:fe01 dev br0 lladdr 00:00:00:00:fe:01 router STALE
2001:470:6d:4fd::4 dev br0 lladdr 00:00:00:00:fe:01 router REACHABLE
So what could i do to fix this problem?

Thx in advance

meno

I think RSTP could not be a problem. In fact ipv4 runs without any problem.

thx

Hello,

in fact i didn't found a solution to that problem. So i decided to do something uncommon i downgraded to 5.24 and
now it works like expected. So there is a problem in 6.0rcX with bridges and ipv6.

Cheers

rstp was my problem!
I turned off rstp on my bridge interface and in seconds ND is working fine!

Thanks for putting me in the right direction!
