Hi,
I tried to search previous posts but didnt find an answer.

Is this a Bug?

This all is done with RouterOS 2.9.5-2.9.13 with plain configuration.

Default configuration points RB532 only serial interface to serial console. If i remove that setting with:

[admin@MikroTik] > /system console print
Flags: X - disabled, U - used, F - free
# PORT TERM
0 F serial0
[admin@MikroTik] > /system console remove 0

Then I reboot that router. After that it show that port is again used by serial console:

[admin@MikroTik] > /system console print
Flags: X - disabled, U - used, F - free
# PORT TERM
0 F serial0

So, I Can't use RB532 as Dial-in server for one connection? Because port is reserved by serial console, it cannot used by PPP-server after reboot.

I really need this feature and fast!!!!!!

Try this easy solution:
/system console print
/system console disable 0

Do not removev it, only disable 8)

Please help mi with APC-UPS. Have somebody working this ups with mikrotik ? I need view and put to script only three signals - warning, critical and ok....

I cannot get my rs232 modem to work on the rb532a serial port... I shouldnt need a crossover cable since it works fine on the PC correct ? Is there a nullmodem built into the rb532 ?

"TxD (pin 3) of this port has -12VDC power when idle."

Do you think this is causing a problem with most devices ? I assume -12VDC is not expected by a modem, typically its 0VDC when idle.

I think the rb532 might have burned out my serial cell modem. Always worked on x86, but after plugging into the rb532 it never worked again... put it back on the x86 intel box and it still doesnt work. the modem itself works (multitech cell modem) but I can tell that the TX / RX lights aren't the same... very light flicker on TX and nothing on RX. I think the voltage mismatch might have toasted the rs232 chip.

Anyone else using a modem on the rb532 serial ?
