Is there a way to connect an additional external antenna on RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN ?

I have a bad reception is some parts of my home and I would like to extend a cable to that area and connect an indoor antenna like :

I wonder if the two fitted antennas can be removed, or if there is a way to connect a cable to another antenna ?

Yes, the device has MMCX connectors for the built-in antennas. If you open the top cover, unplug the original antennas, you can then plug some other antenna in their place.

The mentioned antenna is not really suitable. you must look for antennas that are meant for Wifi (2.4GHz) and have either MMCX connectors, or you will need an adatper.

For example this high gain antenna has SMA connector, you would need MMCX to SMA adatper:

Also remember that even if your AP will have big antennas, yoru phone and laptop still has small antennas, so they would not be able to transmit back to the AP.

Thank you, but at least with this method, I can unplug one of the two Mikrotik antennas, plug a cable with MMCX connector, and install a second antenna in the area in my house with poor reception, am i right ?

it will work, but bear in mind, that the cable will have serious loss of signal with each additional metre of lenght. it is not suggested to have more than a few meters from the router.

When opening the RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN and removing one antenna as you indicate, is the plug in the router an MMCX male or female ?

When changing the standard antenna's, do you HAVE to replace them by 2 ?
Or would it be possible, for example, connect 1 external Yagi antenne, and disable the 2nd antenna port ?

Even better, like my old WRT54 (openwrt), is it possible to program each antenna port independently ? (like separate RX from TX, or assigning different SSID's to specific antenna's)

Antenna was pluged into chain0. No signal increase. Cabel length ~2m.
Tried to put off chain1, regulate TX power, Antenna gain - no results.
Old D-link router worked with this antenna fine.
Now, distance ~30meters -80dBm.
What`s wrong?
