Creating User in User Manager

Thu Apr 04, 2013 3:45 pm

Hi
I wish to create a user in User Manager where the user should be matched with a particular User Profile defined in the hotspot , if there is no matching profile in the hotspot w.r.t. the user defined in the user manager , user should not authenticate. How can it be done ?

N.B.- User Manager and Hotspot running in seperate boxes.

Rgds.

the users in usermanager & in hotspot are different

if you create user AAA in usermanager & radius is not configured it will not work

if you configured radius on hotspot , you must create user in usermanager not in hotspot user

Hi Samir
Thanks for your reply.

I have got working of creation of subscribers in User Manager (AAA ) and get them authenticated via a hotspot. So far so good.

Now , I wanted to authenticate subscribers via a hotspot ( subscribers defined in the AAA ) with respect to some common radius attribute between AAA and the Controller. What I mean to say, the customer defined in the AAA will get authenticated w.r.t a radius-attribute also defined the in the hotspot , if that specific attribute is not present in the hotspot , the user will not get authenticated.

A hint for this is there in the forum- define a group in " /user group" in AAA and create a user profile with that name in controller , but i couldn't make it work. The subscriber gets authenticated independent of any user profile present in the controller.

I hope that , I have clarified my stand.
