Installing MT

Tue Apr 09, 2013 8:23 pm

Hello everybody,

Hopefully somebody can help me. I'm running a bed & breakfast with 2 house. One with only apartments and in the other only rooms and a cafe/restaurant. I want to serve my guest a free w-LAN and found Mikrotik. Somebody who was to help me, left me alone with no working internet. There is so much to install and I can't do it on my own. Can somebody please help me. I left a image of what my idea is.

The thing is that no matter where my guest are, (cafe/restaurant, room or apartments) they will get internet on the guest w-LAN with the same code/voucher I give them.
Is there any way, I can grab the whole internet of my guest, based on the voucher and log this. This is what the government wants from us in Austria.

If there are any questions, please ask.

Hopefully someone can get me closer to this dream :)

I think you have to post some more info about your setup.

Im not sure, but do you have 2 routers to internet? Yo want one radius server (for hotspot?) and use same user/pass at both sites?

Then I would use on box to "terminate" all and be a gateway to internet. Have site 1 and site 2 routed into this hotspot gateway, and nat, route or do what you want from here, by authenticate users. Use this one internet connection for all customer.

Its possible to have a radius client at both sites, connecting to a shared radius server. Then you need a radius server ( let say mikrotik box) configured to the two hotspot gateways.

There are more than one solution here, and you need to provide more accurate info about your net to make a good conclusion here.
