first of all, thank you. You helped me a lot, also the wiki.
I have a problem with a VDSL connection. Here are all the Information of the system:
Hardware: RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN
RouterOS: v5.25
To be really sure, I reseted my configuration completely and startet from the beginning without any default config. I prefer to configure through winbox or webfig.
It is known that the provider uses the vlan id "7" for the vdsl pppoe connection. So I created a vlan port "vlan1" and gave it the ID(or Tag) "7". I choose as interface the one I plugged in my cabel from the modem "ether1".
Then I create "PPPOE client" through "PPP" and put all the initials and passwords in the provider gave me. As interface I choose the "vlan1" I created.
But it won't connect. In the "Log" it initializes and tries to connect but fails.
I already have some mikrotik routers configured and it always worked. This is the first vdsl I am configuring and it does not work. I checked and put a different router on and it worked without the vlan configuration. So I tried that on the mirktorik too and did not configure a vlan1 interface. But still don't work.

I don't know what to do now. I am very thankful for some Ideas or hints

do you have a vdsl modem? OR are you using the mikrotik unit into your phone line? This will not work, you need and vdsl interface, and as far as I know. Mikrotik does not support this.

Is the modem in bridge mode? If not the PPPoE client on RouterOS will not be able to contact the ISP access concentrator.

I am using a vdsl router, which the provider gave me. This router has the option to deactivate the router function and work only as modem. Which is fine, that's how it should be. I'll tried it with an total different router(not mikroTIK) and it worked fine.
When I plug in the MikroTIK there are always too things that happen:

1. The Router tries to connect but it does not work. -- initialzing -- disconnected -- over and over again.
2. Sometimes I reboot the MikroTIK or plug the modem off and on again. Then it connects to the provider and updates the DNS servers and it works, but just for a few minutes. Then the connection ist lost again and it tries to connect. I'll have the some MikroTIK two times, so I tried it also with another MikroTIK just to be sure this one model is not broke.

Since the router(not from mikroTIK) works fine I don't think the cabels are broke or anything hardware specific.

Kind of lost, I don't know what to troubleshoot anymore..

Which speed port on the 2011 are you using ?

We have seen autoneg problems between 2011s and VDSL modems when using the gigabit ports.

Try using one of the 10/100 ports - eg ether10
