Is it possible to cache an https site to improve speed.

Thu Aug 08, 2013 4:19 am

Hi folks... Please help... We were just switched to a new https site we have to do all our transactions on and their site is SLOOOOOOWWW. I have tried their site from multiple locations with varying download(15m-5m) and upload(5m-768k) speeds on those internet connections, with the same results. Any website I go to is faster than the site we need for our business. Our company wants me to speed up the site but I don't know of a way to do it without somehow caching the site we are constantly going to. Is it even possible to cache an https site, and if so can I do it with the mikrotik? Thanks in advance for any help :)

Dear xsoldier777, based on this document
it support it.

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:IP/Proxy

Thanks for the help. I gave it a quick test run with the proxy on the site without logging in and it would not cache the https site(would only cache other http sites) which makes sense as you had pointed out... not exactly a good idea. Thanks again... I'll have to look for another solution... :) Have a Great Day!
