Free ethernet interface and set to VLAN1?

Sun Oct 06, 2013 10:43 am

Hi,

I would like to configure one of the interfaces (Interface 4) on my RB951G to be included in VLAN1 (Used for DMZ). But I don't seem to figure out how to remove it from ether2-master-local. It's now configured as a slave interface to ether2-master-local and even though I have set it to VLAN1 it still is included in the default DHCP-server pool and ignores that setting.

I would like to:
1. Free ethernet interface 4 from its slave status of ether2-master-local.
2. Have it included in VLAN1 that I have created.

How do I do this with RouterOS 5.26?

Thanks!

In winbox, open the Ethernet port and change master port to none.

Do you use the switch chip? Remove all switch settings, and just add the interface that should connect at l2 in a bridge. The easy, stable old way. :D

I tried both the Winbox and the terminal interface and got to the conclusion that the terminal is superior to use when configuring Router OS. The Web interface is really limited.

Thanks for your answers, I now have the VLAN, bridge and the interface connected and everything is working fine!
