Hello,
not really I think! The really working way is also very expensive, using an application based firewall
like sold from
PaloAlto Networks!
All other way are not so effective and/or successful.

Layer 7 works quite well.
Rule 1
Bitorrent
^(\x13bittorrent protocol|azver\x01$|get /scrape\?info_hash=get /announce\?info_hash=|get /client/bitcomet/|GET /data\?fid=)|d1:ad2:id20:|\x08'7P\)[RP]
Rule 2
torrent dns
^.+(torrent|thepiratebay|isohunt|entertane|demonoid|btjunkie|mininova|flixflux|vertor|h33t|zoozle|bitnova|bitsoup|meganova|fulldls|btbot|fenopy|gpirate|commonbits).*$
Riule 3
torrent wws
^.*(get|GET).+(torrent|thepiratebay|isohunt|entertane|demonoid|btjunkie|mininova|flixflux|vertor|h33t|zoozle|bitnova|bitsoup|meganova|fulldls|btbot|fenopy|gpirate|commonbits).*$
Rule 4
Also you can just type torrent in the layer 7 rule
Also you should limit TCP and UDP
Any clients on my line have never been able to ket more than 10k speed
