I have two new Mikrotiks, Routerboard750 and 951ui2HnD.When i log in to them initially, inorder to remove the configurations which come with the new mikrotiks,i remove the configurations after logging in using the default Ip address. However when i remove all the configurations i can no longer access the router using the router mac-address since its the only option left after removing the configuration(Since on the ip address column youll have the ip address 0.0.0.0 in winbox). it gives me this error when i try to connect:"Could not connect to D4:CA:6D:37:25:19(port 20561)-time out!".I googled and was told to see whether windows firewall or any antivirus was blocking winbox i disabled all these but no change. some one help!

use of only mac layer can cause instability (packet loss) in winbox traffic. Use it more like way to add ip address the the router and then connect via IP.

Hi, sometimes default config is set to deny all connections on eth1.

You can try:

1) Connect your cable to eth2,3,4 or eth5.

2) Be sure of have all the other interfaces idle, i meaning wireless, other ethernet....

3) Be sure of having any firewall disabled (specially windows firewall)

Regards.
