As the title says I want to access Routerboard configuration from RouterOS since I read that accessing Mikrotik router via winbox, webFig, ect are not secure, So I wanted to use RouterOS. Our Mikrotik routerboard is RB750GL. I wanted install RouterOS v 5.26 in our dedicated PC which has 256 MB ram, 80 gb harddisk and Intel P4 processor. Earlier I used to connect Mikrotik router from my PC via winbox. There I can see entire configuration of Router. we have LAN setup in our office, so there is physical LAN cable between my pc and router.
Now I have installed RouterOS in another PC which I have specified before. I have established LAN connection between "RouterOS installed system" and Mikrotik Router. When I start system I see Mikrotik login: I have entered admin and empty password then I see Mikrotik command line. To check whether my configuration correct or not I typed the following command.
> system routerboard print
Output I get:
routerboard: no.
I see there is no routerboard configured with my "RouterOS installed system". Should I do something else? How can I overcome this problem?
I have done following to solve this problem, but I can't solve.
> setup
then added IP address(for input) in ether1, IP address(for out) in ether2 and gateway. Then I see that I can able to ping my colleague's static IP from "RouterOS installed system" since my colleagues and I are in same network(Intranet).
