Hello, im confused on what IP use in PPTP where I need to give (in secrets) a local and remote IP, i have seen a lot of different setups, and i just cant find which is the "right way"
* a wiki article shows local:local-gatewayLan-ip remote:remote-gatewayLan-ip
* other places use local (server) gateway IP and remote a IP in the same range
* also saw different subnets used only for the tunels, from /24 to /30

thanks in advance

I've never used that option when setting up the PPTP service in Mikrotik but here is the page that explains the what they're for:

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:PPP_AAA

What you're looking for is under "User Database /ppp secret".

There are no right or wrong setups, depends on your needs. Subnets, address pools of remote and local addresses can be different, because client gets /32 address anyway.
