Question about RB912-OUT

Mon Jan 06, 2014 3:56 pm

Hi,

I've just bought two RB912-OUT.
What is the purpose of the box in the first image? Is something for the ground?

I've another question. I've red the warning on the image I've attached.
Based on my experience with Mirkotik wireless device, each time I've access for the first time to a router, all wireless interface are on shutdown. Is it dangerous to operate with wireless interfaces off?

The first bag contains the DIN rail mount. If you don't plan to put it on a DIN rail, ignore it.

Usually all wireless interfaces are turned on, and ready to operate. I don't believe we ship any products with disabled wireless interface.

As I access to the device for the first time and I disable all wireless interface, is it safe to operate on the device?

During the time when you access it, any transmit could damage the wireless interface. This is the reason we have a sticker on the unit.

Of course normally, if nothing is connected to the unit during this time, there should be no transmissions happening, so damaging the unit this way is very unlikely.
