Ethernet port problem ?

Fri Jan 24, 2014 5:09 pm

Just in the last week I installed a CCR1016-12G using it as a Hotspot controller. All has been working great until last night.

I am using Ethernet port 4 for my egress to the internet and Ethernet port 10 for my hotspot users. I am also using Ethernet port 2 just to monitor and manage the Routerboard.

As of sometime yesterday Ethernet port 4 is reporting an average of 6Mbps of transmit data. Ethernet port 10 is nowhere near that in receive or transmit.

See attached image.

Any ideas what might be going on ?

Thanks in advance !

What's attached to that port?

Have you tried running torch to see what the traffic is?

That port directly connects to the DSL line from our provider. Our service is 30Mbitdown/7Mbit up so this would affect our users outgoing traffic.

Attached is the Torch output. No source or destination specified.

Tick the other 4 boxes in the torch. See if you can get some more information out of it.

Can you confirm with your provider that this traffic is real?

Also, if you have another routerbaord, stick it between the CCR and DSL modem as a bridge so you can get an 'outside' view of the situation.
