cannot ping management interface via trunk port

Wed Mar 05, 2014 8:45 pm

I have a x86 version of RouterOS 6.7 running. I have three vlans, 10,20,30. I have the VLAN created, which created the interface. I created the IP address for the interface. I assigned the vlan interfaces to a specific port ETH2, and ETH2 is in a bridge. From the mikrotik I can ping all the vlan interfaces successfully.

I connect a ubiquiti toughswitch to the ETH2 physical interface on the mikrotik and the UBNT cannot ping the Mikrotik and the Mikrotik cannot ping the UBNT toughswitch. Toughswitch has the management interface configured and tagged with the proper vlan.

This is a new install, no customers behind it and should be no trickery involved. Also, I have verified the straight through cable connected to the Ubiquiti touchswitch to the mikrotik is good.

Please any advice. Thanks for your time.

ETH2 is in a bridge.
Why?
I connect a ubiquiti toughswitch to the ETH2 physical interface on the mikrotik and the UBNT cannot ping the Mikrotik and the Mikrotik cannot ping the UBNT toughswitch. Toughswitch has the management interface configured and tagged with the proper vlan.
Which VLAN? What IPs? I think you need to provide more information and, preferably a network diagram.
