Dear All,

I want to implement Access point to get internet connectivity from ISP to my home via Point to Point. Which access Point should i buy to get better performance reliable and very less Ping fluctuations in gaming. Port Speed 8Mbps. Till now i more lean toward Groove and Metal Series. Distance from ISP and my home around 1KM.

My purpose is to get best connectivity at lower pings. one AP will be installed at ISP Premise and one at mine.

Thanks :)

Basically you would need just two of these:
http://routerboard.com/RBSXT5nDr2

for a 1km link to ISP, it will be good enough. If you need wireless internet in your home, you would need to connect something like this to the SXT:

Dear Sir,

Same model installed SXT Lite 5 Home Roof TOP and ISP using there own device but problem is pings fluctuate too much 4ms to 40ms 10ms 60ms 10ms like this not constant. I want best stable pings possible in Point to Point connectivity according to my ISP then i will get stable pings.

This is not the problem with the device, changing device will not improve pings. Pings could be affected by signal, noise, weather etc. We need more information about your connection

Your CCQ is low. It should be 99-100% with this signal. Try to change the channel, maybe there is some noise. Also good alignment is very important even with a strong signal.

Normis is right about the thing he said, the problem is WIRELESS, with the traffic the ping is going more and more
Do something....
do ping test
1. ping ISP gateway interval 0.1 size 1500 (according to me 5-10ms)
2. ping ISP gateway interval 0.1 size 15000 (10-15ms)

show the output, so we can see if u have a real problem with the pings....
cause people used to the cable connection whats too much from the wireless, WHEN low cost equipment is involved like SXT!!!
According to me SXT is best fit for less than 800m, for more go with satellite antennas.... - its all about bad noise

3. Start downloading a torrent with limitation of 10% of what u are given by ISP
4. 1. ping ISP gateway interval 0.1 size 1500
5. show result.

For good , no! Excellent PING, u have to go with Dual Nstream... which is NOT a low cost decision :)
NV2 u use is good for bandwidth, but not for pings.... If u are not gona use the whole bandw try without it!
Are there any other antennas around ur house/office or around the ISP antenna location ? If there is....
do frequency monitor to check what is happening.... try different frequencies.... it works from time to time

Show us the ping result, to see if you really have an issue
and the last picture u shared, I cant see it... whats the CCQ ?
take in mind that CCQ changes when the traffic go up, but not so much!!!

If you dont know how to ping from mikrotik, U are already in trouble :)

1. From your station log in (winbox) click new terminal and write
/ping ISP-IP-Address interval=0.1 size=1500
after 5 seconds ctrl+c will stop, After stop there will be something like

sent=X received=XX packet-loss=X% min-rtt=XXms avg-rtt=XXms max-rtt=XXms

please do share that for Step 1,Step 2, Step 3 :)

Im not sure if it will help much, but at lease you will learn how to ping :)

For step 1
sent=231 received=231 packet-loss=0% min-rtt=3ms avg-rtt=7ms max-rtt=64ms
For Step 2
sent=159 received=159 packet-loss=0% min-rtt=13ms avg-rtt=17ms max-rtt=30ms
For Step 3 torrent running
sent=884 received=885 packet-loss=0% min-rtt=3ms avg-rtt=5ms max-rtt=18ms

Im new in Mikrotik OS need to learn more mikrotik OS :)

why so fluctuations in pings 2ms to 8ms to 4ms anyway to reduce it. constant 2ms 4ms 3ms 4ms. If i deploy one more Metal5 at my home roof top will it improve or shall i go for another SXT Lite5?

in wireless its ok ping going from 2ms to 10-20ms from time to time
as long as you can enjoy internet and download data normally U DONT need to worry about pings!
