IP Addressing & HotSpot Issues

Tue Apr 29, 2014 4:15 pm

I have a small issue that I cannot seem to find a fix for:

We have a RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN, configured as follows:

ether1 - DHCP WAN
ether2 - Assigned IP 10.50.5.1/24 - (Local Network really only used for a local technician to connect to device should we not be able to connect remotely)
ether3-10 - Disabled
spf1 - Disabled
wlan1 - Assigned 172.16.10.1/24
wlan2 (virtualAP) - Assigned 172.16.11.1/24

After we get through setting up all the DHCP, HotSpots on the WLAN's and very basic NAT & firewall.

We can get a device to see both WLAN1 & WLAN2 SSID's and connect and be redirected to sign in page. Great....but after about 5 minutes of running the hotspot-1 running on WLAN1 turns red and will not hand out DHCP or allow connected devices to browse.

We have found that for some reason if we look at "Addresses" ether2 has taken over 172.16.10.1 and it has also taken over the DHCP scope for the hotspot as well. We have tried reverting it back to WLAN1 but after a few minutes it goes back to ether2.

WLAN2 the virtual AP, has no problems and continues to work perfectly.

We have reset config tried again and still come up with the same issue. We use RB951-2n and have not had this problem on any of those devices, just the RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN (this is our first RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN), and we are using the same configuration on all of them as we are trying to put on the RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Insure you remove wlan1 from the switch/bridge. Here are the default configurations for MikroTik devices.

I have removed the default configuration before we put our configuration on the device. Would I still need to remove it from the switch/bridge?

Do I still need to do this even though I have removed default configuration?
