CCR-1036G-12G-4S - All Ethernet ports no link

Fri Jun 06, 2014 10:32 pm

Just had a strange thing happen with one of my CCR BGP Edge routers..

All ethernet interfaces stopped passing traffic. The only way I could get into the device was (thankfully) through the SFP/Fiber WAN ports.

When I logged in all Ethernet ports showed no links. The primary and secondary LAN links were completely down, circumventing any of the redundant routing in place.

In my haste to restore network connectivity I simply rebooted without analyzing the logs. The rebooted worked and brought everything online.

I'm running RouterOS 6.12 w/ firmware 3.10.

Anyone else run into this? Sounds like I may need to think about moving one of my LAN links to an SFP port in case this happens again.

Setup is not too complex... Two eBGP peers receiving full routes and three iBGP peers, OSPF for iBGP. A few firewall rules to protect the router and about 350mbps aggregate at peak utilization.

I should also note this CCR has been in production for just over a year, so this isn't a new setup. This is the first issue I've had.
