Winbox 2.9.24

Tue May 30, 2006 6:49 pm

Anyone having issues with the new winbox (2.2.10) accessing 2.9.24 devices? It starts to connect then it launches the interface and then crashes saying:
winbox.exe as generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created
I've tried from three different computers and I can't connect. It only seems to happen with 2.9.24 devices. I can access all of my 2.9.17-18 devices fine.

SSH and telnet both work fine, they connect no problems.. Is there a new port that's required by winbox now other than TCP 8291?

Not on startup, but I can crash .10 by right-clicking on an interface graph.
Same error report.

yeah, the only reason I put .24 on that Routerboard was because I didn't have 2.9.17, which has proven itself stable on my network. I guess I'll have to downgrade to a more stable version.

It would be nice if Mikrotik would link to an archive of prior versions rather than their newest release.

I've archived most packages for years, but only lately started for the RBs. What version do you need? I think maybe only back to .19 for .ns.

I needed 2.9.17, but I had a copy on my laptop I just uploaded to our network management box. So I'm all set, thanks for the offer!

Oh and downgrading fixed my problem accessing winbox.

If you have a more stable version for my systems other than 2.9.24 I would really be thankfull if you could email them to me.
I am having serious issues with the 2.9.24 version on the http-chap login for my radius server. 80% of the time the system does not send the login request to the radius server.

2.9.24 is very stable. if you have configuration issues, you must not immediatelly assume a bug or blame it on the version. first of all, try clearing the winbox saved settings in the launcher (winbox stores them on router, so changing PC won't help). there is a new checkbox for that called "load previous session".

if you have other issues, share them here or report to support. also please read this link:

yes, like Normis's said,

Try to unchek 'Load Previos Session' on the launcher. :)
