Hello!
Not sure if i post this in the right category but i hope you can help.
I'm doing an internship at a company and i need to create a vlan, then add a wifi access point in that vlan.
The vlan works fine, i can connect the ethernet cable to a computer and connect to the internet, now the problem is setting up the ap, when i connect the ap in a non vlan port in the router it works fine, but when i connect it into the port i have configured vlan it wont give out ip adresses, so cant connect to the internet
i'm running out of ideas, could someone help please?

Because you connect a device to one port have VLAN and your Access-point don't understand VLAN ! so you can use a another router for get traffic on VLAN and then set ip address on Input port and connect your AP to other port !

i cant quite understand what you said, but ill explain the situation a bit more. i need to do the vlan so that there would be a separate network for guests and computers that need repairing that are not safe to connect to the local network. today i tried to make it so that i connect the local network to the vlan and leave the guest network alone, but it turns out that i cant do that since the vlan works only on switch 2 and not switch 1 for some reason (the router has 2 inbuilt switches), tried tagged and untagged. router is RB2011UiAS
