Device recommendation for 70+ wireless users

Hello,

I have worked with RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN before but not with so many wireless devices and I wanted to order this model for a nightclub that has a lot wireless users 70+ I approximate, most of them being mobile devices witch will not make a lot of traffic most of them will just stay connected and not do anything, I already have a device that does the NAT routing at the site so it will not be connected directly to the internet but I may want to implement the hotspot feature in the future.

The thing is that the vendor told me that this device supports only 15 devices in optimum conditions and that made me wonder if the wireless module of the RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN is up to the task, i have also considered CRS109-8G-1S-2HnD-IN but it is layer 3 and it will be used in the same way as the RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN.

Can someone that has had experience with this kind of problem please give me some advice on what should I buy?

The coverage of the wireless device is not an issue because the space is not blocked by walls and it's not very big.

Have no experience with so many clients but I would try it with single 2011. At worst you will need to add one AP more...

i am also interest how many wireless clients can connect to RB951Ui-2HnD or RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN.
in my experience some tplinks ap can connect 15 wireless clients and no more.
i am asking about mikrotik devices because if you can connect 50-70 clients there is no need for an extra AP.

There were some words on this forum telling that 70 clients are possible. Personally I have not seen any proof but I guess it would be possible with 2011.

Just some weeks ago I had up to 157 concurrent clients (pretty much matching your client specs) on a single Metal 5SHPn without any problems.
The metal was only used as Access point, serving four SSIDs on four VLANs, avg CPU load was less than 20%. No routing or NATing involved.
So I would say a 2011 would easily handle 70+ clients.
Maybe you should go for a BaseBox and add another wireless card for the other band (either 2.4 or 5GHz, depending on your BaseBox model) and give the club another channel with the same SSID and security profile.
Put both WLAN interfaces on the same bridge, disable default forward on both WLAN interfaces and you should be absolutely fine.

You say you want to implement this in a night club - which sounds to me like a high density application.
I'd strongly recommend adding more APs to the venue - to make sure each client device has a more or less clear LoS to one of the APs.
We're deploying high density and ultra-high density WiFi applications on a very regular basis and from my experience I can guarantee you that client's connection quality drastically increases when you have more APs spread in the venue (also meaning that you will deploy more channels unless you'll be using Extricom) and clients actually "see" the AP they're connected to.

Good luck!
-Chris

Also recommend weatherproof access points. These kinds of place have a lot of condensation. Else you would need to replace them all the time.

Very good point!

for AP, and AP controller. Ruckus is the way to go.

By using Ruckus Zonedirector and Ruckus AP. I have usually around a few hundred WIFI connections daily.

Same like the Mikrotik RouterOS, both never crash and very reliable.

Thank you all for the replys, the sollution I finnaly went for is a RB951G-2HnD because it was cheap and I could use it in other places if it did not work and on its own it handled 40 simoultaneous clients on a slow night without too much stress, i have not monitored the device after, no one complained about the internet, the signal covered the entire area, but i added an extra AP beside one month after just to be shore.
