This is the second time this has happened. The last time, I just shut it off and used a different router for a few months. I decided to re-activate the RB2011 and see what I could do and it just seemed to work great. Well about a week later, the same thing has happened. My bandwidth has slowed to about 1% of my normal speed. Ping times and all. I have upgraded the firmware to the latest 3.18 and I'm running WinBox at v6.19. I am at a loss as to what could be the problem. It's a very simple configuration: just a cable modem running to Port 1. I have a switch connected to Port 3, and everything runs off of the switch.

I'm really new to RouterBoard so any tips of where to look and troubleshoot would be great.

Check the duplex on your WAN interface, perhaps is there a problem?

Not sure what you mean by "check the duplex". I verified that I am running full duplex on all interfaces involved. What else is there to check? I am really getting frustrated with this product. I have had less trouble with a cheap consumer-grade router but I really want to make this work. How can I troubleshoot my problem?

Here's what I've noticed already when swapping between the RB2011 and an old WRT54G router with DD-WRT installed:

--Testing with DNS Benchmark shows extremely long response times from the RB2011 not only at the router but once past.


--TRACERT of 68.4.16.30 (my ISP's primary DNS server) is drastically different on the RB2011


--Speedtest.net bandwidth tests show significantly slower download and upload speeds when running on the RB2011.

This is a condition that has not always been the case. When I first installed and setup the RB2011, I did not have these problems. Is there some sort of cache or buffer that is getting full? What can I do??

May happen you are under ddns attack or changed the firewall rules.

Maybe so... What can anyone suggest to check for that?? Any other thoughts??

See the conntrack and torch the wan interface. Look at wan statistics.
