It has no "features" since it is simply an adapter (converter). Plug in fiber, plug in ethernet, and it connects.

I'd love to see a version that offers POE output and an AC bus terminal. That would allow for remote radio hookups without the need for additional outdoor enclosures.

Hi Normis,
Sorry to bother you, but would like to know for sure that VLAN tagging can go through and when its going to be available?
Thank you,
Yuri

Microtik staff

Will the SFP slot support any SFP device? If so will it support the Finisar GPON stick? this could be a break through in the way i deploy my be FTTH GPON network.

Thanks for the answer. As the Finisar Gpon stick is a true gpon to sfp ethernet then what your saying is that the driver onboard should should? Or does that SFP device have to be a microtik SFP ? or can you put any SFP device in the FTC i.e cisco, HP etc.

1. There are no drivers required for SFP modules.

2. In our device there is no SFP vendor lock in place, so other vendor SFP can be used.

3. If the module is made as advertised, then it should work in any device with SFP interface that meets the required standards on module host side.

Thats great news, so even in a CRC36 it should work? That makes Microtik Gpon compatible

It interesting. But AFAIK, PON require configuring abonent's parameters.
Or MAC address is enough and time sloth is auto configured?

Somebody tried this modules?

Finally I've got one, tested. Like Normis said, fibre on one side and rj-45 on the other. Everything i've tested works just like using straight through cable

How about these Finisar G(E)PON SFPs? Anyone tried them in FTC11?
